ROUTE OF DON QUIXOTE
The DON QUIJOTE Route begins in the city of Toledo, capital of Castilla-La Mancha, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In this first section, the walker can discover the famous windmills, the main squares, the castles and the varied popular architecture.
We will travel by bus area of castles such as ALMONACID DE TOLEDO, We continue along the south branch, after passing through MASCARAQUE, soon we will find the silhouette of the ruins of the Castle of Peñas Negras in Mora, then we go to Consuegra.
We are in the MONTES DE TOLEDO.
From CONSUEGRA, mills nailed to the top of its hills and its castle we propose you to make a first stop.
Giants or windmills?, Medieval knights or manchego nobles With the visit to the medieval castle and one of its mills, of the 13 mills that crowned the Cerro Calderico.This is the most general visit with a duration of approx. 2:00 h and a half.
From here we can go to CAMPO DE CRIPTANA, visit Cerro de la Paz, panoramic by bus area of windmills. Depending on whether we go with enough time we could see the possibility
to VISIT WINERY.
Very soon, we will arrive at EL TOBOSO, where the beautiful Dulcinea lived oblivious to the madness that caused her beauty and now it is possible to visit in the Cervantino Museum, the numerous editions that are exhibited there of Don Quixote, located in the same main square, the exhibition of graphic humor dulcinea which is a collection of drawings by important humorists dedicated to the figure of Dulcinea, the house museum Dulcinea, the latter is a manchego mansion of the sixteenth century with period furniture and popular flavor, you could also visit The impressive parish church dedicated to San Antonio Abad, belonging to the last stage of the Gothic, impressive columns support the building that stands out for its grandiosity.
From April you can visit the Convent of the Trinitarian Nuns, of the seventeenth century, of Herrerian style, inside it houses a museum with a valuable collection of paintings and imagery of the Spanish school of the seventeenth century, goldsmithing, gold embroidery … etc.
Back in Toledo we will stop at TEMBLEQUE, where we can stop to walk through the Plaza Mayor, one of the most beautiful in all of La Mancha, with arcades supported by granite columns and corridors. Short stop for coffee and visit surroundings plaza mayor.

- Full-day tour (one day): Consuegra – Tembleque – Toboso – Mora stopping at the Oil Museum (Optional)
